James Murray - Artistic Director

​

Irish, raised in Argentina, studied acting in Buenos Aires, New York with legendary Uta Hagen, and thanks to a scholarship from Robert De Niro with Penelope Allen. Later went on to win a British Council full scholarship to do a one year post graduate course in classical acting at LAMDA London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Directed over 130 musicals and plays in English for different bilingual schools in Buenos Aires.

 

James has lectured and trained directors for school productions as well as commercial theatre.

 

He’s worked professionally on stage and screen. The commercial theatre productions he has directed have won prizes and have become landmarks.

He’s been a mentor to many a performer, director, stage manager, lighting designer and tutor.

 

Before living in Madrid with his wife and family he was Head of the Drama department for 6 years at St. Luke's College Olivos, Nordelta & Escobar coordinating 16 drama teachers, choreographers, set designers and music teachers. 

 

Other teaching includes the third year of the Acting/ Directing BA at the Universidad de Palermo - Buenos Aires.

Presently he's directing professionally for REINA MAB TEATRO  and teaches Shakespeare at Estudio Corazza para la interpretación.
